Common questions.
What does it cost?
Free during early access. Pricing will land once the product is generally available — likely a flat per-matter fee for litigation use and a free tier for personal projects.
Who owns my data?
You do. Every matter is yours; you can export it as a
self-contained .prizm JSON file at any time and walk
away. Your files are stored in object storage that only you and
people you've invited can read.
How do I export a timeline?
Three ways: print to PDF (clean print stylesheet), export as a standalone interactive HTML file (the viewer + your data, one file, no internet required), or share a read-only hosted link that updates as the matter changes.
Which browsers are supported?
Any modern Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc) on macOS, Windows, or Linux. Firefox and Safari support is on the roadmap.
How many people can collaborate on a matter?
No hard cap. Realistic team sizes for the use cases we've seen range from one to about a dozen. Beyond that the swim-lane metaphor starts to break down anyway.
Is this only for lawyers?
No. PrizmLine was built inside a trust-and-estate litigation practice, but the underlying tool — a visual canvas for things that happen on dates, with sources attached — works for personal histories, organizational milestones, research timelines, and anything else where chronology matters.
Can I import existing data?
Yes. You can import a .prizm file from another
matter, or upload a PDF / document and let the AI extractor
propose events you accept or edit one at a time. Nothing
auto-merges — you stay in control of what lands on the timeline.
What's a .prizm file?
A small JSON file that represents a complete matter — people, events, tags, source references. It's the canonical export and re-import format, so a matter is always portable between PrizmLine instances or just as an archival snapshot.
How is my data secured?
Authenticated access only. Row-level security on the database means even a leaked API key can't read someone else's matters. Email magic-link sign-in — no passwords to lose. HTTPS everywhere.
How do I get help?
Email hello@prizmline.com. We read everything.
